As one of the first pubs that Barracuda Group acquired when it was established in 2000, the pub was originally called The Bank.  Alongside a new name and décor, the manager launched a new food menu and entertainment schedule, and also recruited additional bar and kitchen staff, so there is plenty on offer to attract a wider customer base.

Operating under Barracuda’s Smith & Jones brand, the layout of the pub is warm and welcoming, with cosy booth seating, a new bar area, furnishings and carpets. 

Manager of The Oak, Dawn Owen-Foster, said: “We’ve had a fantastic first weekend, with many customers coming in to take advantage of our competitive deals on food and drink.  All our staff underwent extra training to ensure our service and standards match the high quality of the new pub.”

The refurbishment brings about a classy, bright, fresh new look that will hopefully be popular with everyone from market and office workers, day time shoppers to those on a big night out at weekends.
